Tricia Schafer understands the challenge of maintaining a regular exercise program and healthy eating habits while working in a stressful, sedentary environment. She’s been there. In 1994, Tricia began her first career – as an attorney. Notwithstanding her demanding schedule, daily exercise remained an absolute priority, as it allowed Tricia to relieve tension and think through issues.

As the years passed, exercise evolved from a priority to a passion. Although Tricia maintained a full-time law practice for several years, she discovered she had another valuable skill: inspiring others to become motivated to exercise and maintain healthy lifestyles. With the encouragement of family and friends, Tricia earned her American Council on Exercise certifications as a Personal Trainer and Lifestyle/Weight Management Consultant, and her Certified Flexibility Trainer (Level I) credentials at the Stretch To Win Institute in Tempe, AZ. As the manager of Starting Now Fitness, Tricia now works with clients of a variety of ages, backgrounds, and abilities in Central Phoenix.

Tricia blends her background as a former dance instructor, long-time exercise enthusiast, and credentialed fitness professional to create a uniquely-tailored program to suit your individual needs and interests. She is an objective, patient, and attentive listener, and can help you find creative and successful ways to achieve and maintain your desired fitness level.

Tricia earned her bachelor’s degree in 1991, and continues to study nutrition, anatomy, physiology, flexibility, and other topics related to exercise and wellness. Tricia’s educational pursuits ensure that her clients receive up-to-date information to help them make sound choices and decisions regarding their exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle.

Raised in Oregon, Tricia has lived and worked in California, Washington, New York, and Washington, D.C. She moved to Phoenix in 1997, where she enjoys swimming, hiking, running, weight training, cycling and yoga, and continues to practice law.

Tricia is living proof that one can have a satisfying career and a healthy, active lifestyle. From her personal experience and expanding knowledge base, Tricia can suggest numerous strategies that will help you regain control of your schedule, your health, and your life.
